Design
The laptop is enclosed in a black casing, which the manufacturer called Star Black. The appearance is without bright and flashy details; on the contrary, complete minimalism reigns here. There is a beautiful glossy ProArt logo; another inscription, this time ASUS, is placed on the lower edge of the screen. Whole aluminum alloy body, sturdy and durable. It has passed a series of tests and meets the military standard MIL-STD 810H, which means it is not afraid of drops, vibrations, temperature changes, and other troubles. The device’s design is stable, plus the laptop is perfectly assembled.

Thin side frames surround the 16-inch display, and a webcam is placed on the top. The Numpad keyboard is noticeably recessed into the surface looks durable and comfortable. Below it is a rectangular touchpad with physical buttons and a unique ASUS Dial controller, which is useful, for example, for working in Photoshop. As for the device’s compactness: its dimensions are 362x264x20 mm, the weight is 2.4 kg, so theoretically, the device can be taken with you wherever you go.
Display, sound, and webcam
The laptop uses a 16-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3840×2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The maximum brightness is 400 cd / m2, which is a lot for an OLED panel. The colors on display look vibrant, with deep blacks and true-to-life hues. Watching movies editing photos or videos is a great pleasure. Pantone has tested the screen, and its color reproduction is as accurate as possible. The display is glossy, so we do not recommend working with it in sunny weather under direct rays – glare cannot be avoided.

The device has two Harman Kardon speakers, and they sound fine, albeit without the way effect. However, the sound is clear and loud enough. In general, listening to music and watching videos is quite comfortable.
The webcam resolution is 720p, although we expected better in a premium device, for example, 1080p. The picture looks dull and indistinct, but such a webcam will do for periodic video calls. By the way, if you want to hide from everyone and everything, use the slider to cover the camera lens.
Keyboard and touchpad
A backlit keyboard that’s non-dazzling and great in the dark when you need to type. The island-style keyboard has a standard layout, so typing is comfortable from the first day. The travel of the buttons is average (1.4 mm), the recoil is clear and tangible. All frequently pressed keys are large and easy to hit. The arrows are full-sized; in addition, they are located just below the central unit – this is convenient. A Numpad will come in handy for anyone who often deals with numbers. Above the keyboard unit, there is a button for turning on the device with a built-in biometric sensor.

The touchpad is large and covered with glass, making your fingers glide over it quickly and do not stick. The touchpad is responsive and responsive to touch. It supports famous multi-touch gestures like zooming in or three-finger swiping to change windows.
Of course, the ASUS Dial controller is worth mentioning separately. It is a round button with a smooth rotation and a clicking release. It has a textured outer edge, making it easy to grip and rotate with one finger. You can use the controller, for example, to change the sound or screen brightness. It is also helpful for designers, video editors, and anyone who uses Adobe applications (Photoshop, Photoshop Lightroom Classic, After Effects, and Premiere Pro): using this button, you can quickly change the scale switch between tools, which is a great time-saver. Of course, ASUS Dial is not an essential item, but it’s somehow more fun with it.

Performance
ASUS Prorate Studbook 16 H7600HM-L2040X (90NB0VD1-M001Y0) ships with Windows 11 Pro operating system. The eight-core Intel Core i7-11800H Tiger Lake generation is made according to the 10nm process technology and operates at a frequency of 2.3-4.6 GHz. It can process 16 data streams simultaneously, has 24 MB of L3 cache, and a 45 W thermal package.
Integrated Intel UHD Graphics Xu overclocks from 350 to 1450 MHz. Its capabilities are sufficient for everyday tasks, such as office applications and web surfing. For everything else, there is a discrete video accelerator – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 6 GB of its GDDR6 memory. The laptop copes with challenging tasks like editing 4K video thanks to its powerful hardware. And although the laptop is not a gaming laptop, you can also play many modern games at maximum settings: Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty Vanguard, and others.
The amount of RAM is 32 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz standard. A 2 TB SSD is provided for storing media content.
Ports and communications
On the right side of the laptop are: a USB 3.2 port, a combined audio jack, an RJ-45 network connector, an SD Express 7.0 card reader.

Battery, heat, and noise
The notebook contains a 4-cell, 90 Li-ion battery. With the screen brightness set to 50%, the device lasts 6-6.5 hours when surfing the web or watching 720p video streaming. On the one hand, it seems that these are small numbers. On the other hand, it’s nothing if you remember that we are talking about a device with a complete filling and a 4K screen. Yes, there is room to grow because some competitors have much better autonomy, yet the result is decent.
The laptop’s two fans work actively, but the heat is well distributed, due to which the case does not overheat. The laptop feels comfortably warm under load, but it is entirely relaxed if you run a simple application.
